Esthetic success on implants from the prosthodontic point of view

The possibility to deliver an esthetic implant prosthesis depends, for the most part, upon the proper position of the implant and a sufficient volume of hard and soft tissues available. The conditions that should guide the correct 3-D placement of an implant will be examined, demonstrating the consequences that can result when accepting compromises in the mesio-distal, bucco-lingual and apico-coronal positioning. Several clinical cases will be shown to exemplify prosthetic solutions for non-ideal implant placements. Through them, the importance of a proper surgical planning and execution for a simplified (prosthetically speaking) treatment and for achieving a successful result will be demonstrated.
