This book is intended as a guide, a path, and a journey for all implantologists who do not want to set themselves limits in carrying out regenerative surgery, who require encouragement, and who wish to hone their surgical and biologic knowledge. It is a text to understand the basic rules and indications, and a text to gradually become more familiar with these techniques. It contains plentiful precautions, details, and strategies. Nothing is left to chance; rather, everything respects a replicable protocol. For years a pioneer in the field of guided bone regeneration (GBR), the author has contributed to the development and perfecting of GBR surgical techniques, adding significant innovations to well-known procedures, whose repetitive nature have made the techniques less complex than previously considered. His very personal contribution is demonstrated especially by the technical steps and insights related to passivation and flap management, the absolute care of soft tissues, and by the definition of revolutionary ideas linked to the biology of materials. This rigorous and scientifically rational approach is combined with refined didactic and communicative ability, leading the reader into a world of progressive and up-todate knowledge associated with the acquisition of a sound and trustworthy method.
