For ethical reasons, most studies report only clinical and not histologic results. A 20-year-old woman presenting with a localized gingival recession of 5 mm in the mandibular left central incisor was treated with SCTG. According to the initial treatment plan, the tooth was extracted 11 months later and a histologic study was performed, revealing new attachment of connective tissue with collagen fibers that were directly inserted in a perpendicular way into dentin areas and new cement areas (1.37 mm).
