Purpose: This study has assessed improvements of patients with ectodermal dysplasia (ED) and treated by a multidisciplinary team with provision of fixed prostheses supported by dental implants. Methods: Two patients with ED and hypodontia were treated with new maxillary complete dental prostheses or fixed implant prostheses, and a mandibular fixed dental prosthesis with implants. Patients were assessed with questionnaires to evaluate improvements in function, social and psychological problems. Results: Improvement in all aspects was reported for the two patients. A comprehensive team was able to provide a treatment plan that improved individual functional, social and psychological status. Conclusions: Patients with ED treated with dental implants reported encouraging outcomes after prostheses are fitted.
