Dr. Massimo del Fabbro

Massimo Del Fabbro graduated with a degree in biology from the University of Milan, where he also earned his PhD in human physiology and is currently an associate professor in dentistry. He was director of the Research Centre in Oral Health from 2011 to 2016 and has been Director of the PhD program in Oral Sciences at the University of Milan since 2015. In 2002 he became Head of the Section of Oral Pathophysiology at the IRCCS Galeazzi Orthopaedic Institute in Milan. Dr Del Fabbro is also a founding member and active member of the ANTHEC (Academy of Non-Transfusional Hemo-Components). His current research fields are periodontology, implant dentistry, endodontics and endodontic surgery, biomaterials and tissue engineering and biology of platelet concentrates.

Prof. Korkud Demirel DDS

Turkey

Professor Korkud Demirel, DDS, graduated from Tarsus American School in 1980, and from Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry, in 1985. He worked as a visiting lecturer at New York University, Stony Brook School of Dentistry, Department of Periodontology in 1989 and 1990. He attained his PhD in 1992 and became Professor in 2002. He was awarded the title of Honorary Professor by the Ukrainian Academy of Postgraduate Education in 2018. His professional areas of interest include esthetic periodontal treatment, dental implants, bone regeneration, and smoking and gingival diseases. He was Past President of the Turkish Society of Periodontology, and was Past President of the European Federation of Periodontology.

Jay Dicharry

Originally from New Orleans LA, Jay completed the Masters of Physical Therapy degree at Louisiana State University Medical Center and is a Board- Certified Sports Clinical Specialist. Jay built his international reputation as an expert in biomechanical analysis as Director of the SPEED Clinic at the University of Virginia. Through this innovative venture, Jay was able to blend the fields of clinical practice and engineering to better understand  and eliminate the cause of overuse injuries in endurance athletes. His unique approach goes outside the traditional model of therapy and aims to correct imbalances before they affect your performance.

Jay literally wrote the book on running gait assessments: he is author of “Anatomy for Runners”, writes columns for numerous magazines, and has published over a dozen professional journal articles and three book chapters. Jay has had an active research career, teaches nationally, and consults for numerous footwear companies, the US Air Force and USA Track and Field. His ongoing research focus on footwear and the causative factors driving overuse injury continues to provide him cutting edge knowledge to educate and provide patients with an unmatched level of innovation and success. Having taught in the Sports Medicine program at UVA, he brings a strong bias towards patient education, and continues to teach nationally to elevate the standard of care for Therapists, Physicians, and Coaches working with endurance athletes.

In addition to his clinical distinction, Jay is a certified coach through both the United States Track and Field Association and the United States Cycling Federation, and certified Golf Fitness Instructor through Titleist Performance Institute. He has a competitive history in swimming, triathlon, cycling, and running events on both the local and national level, and has coached athletes from local standouts to national medalists. He is excited to share this passion with the team at Rebound, and explore the Pacific Northwest with his family on knobbies, skis, boards, and soles.

PD Dr. Didier Dietschi DDS, MSD, PhD

Dr Didier Dietschi graduated from the University of Geneva Dental School, Switzerland, in 1984, where he completed specialty training in periodontology and restorative dentistry. He held the positions of assistant, lecturer, and senior lecturer at the same university, where he received his doctoral title in 1988 under the supervision of Prof Jacques Holz and a Privat-Docent degree in 2004. He earned his PhD in 2003 at the Academic Centre for Dentistry in Amsterdam, Netherlands, under the guidance of Prof Carel Davidson. In 1990, he started a part-time practice in a private office in Geneva limited to esthetic restorative dentistry with a focus on soft tissue management and implantology. Since 2005, he has held the position of adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University (USA) and maintained his part-time senior lecturer position at the University of Geneva in the Department of Cariology and Endodontics headed by Prof Ivo Krejci. Dr Dietschi has won numerous awards for his contributions to adhesive restorative dentistry. He is an active lecturer author, journal reviewer, and industry consultant and has contributed to significant improvements in the field of composite shading with the development of the so-called “Natural Layering Concept”. He coauthored the book Adhesive Metal-Free Restorations, edited in 1997 by Quintessence and translated into seven languages. Dr Dietschi is internationally acclaimed for his theoretical and practical teaching programs focused on adhesive and esthetic restorations with the integration of scientific evidence and implementation of new technologies in the field of minimally invasive esthetic dentistry applied to the restorations of anterior and posterior teeth.

Prof. Nikolaos Donos DDS, MS, FHEA, FDSRC, PhD

Professor Nikos Donos is the Chair of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry, the Director of Clinical Research, the Head of the Centre for Oral Clinical Research and the Lead for the Centre of Oral Immunobiology & Regenerative Medicine at the Institute of Dentistry, Barts & The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). Prof. Donos is also the Director of the ITI scholarship Centre and the Director of the Osteology Research Scholarship Centre, both at QMUL. In 2009, Professor Donos has been awarded the title of Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry in Hong Kong, in 2012 the title of Adjunct Professor at the Dental School, Griffith University in Australia, in 2015 the title of Honorary Professor at UCL-Eastman Dental Institute and in 2019 the title of Honorary Professor, School of Dentistry, University of Queensland, Australia. In 2011, Professor Donos was awarded the prestigious International Association for Dental Research (IADR)-Periodontology Group Award in Periodontal Regenerative Medicine and in 2019 the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) Clinical Research Award for his contribution as co-author for “outstanding published scientific manuscript with direct clinical relevance and application to the practice of periodontics”. In 2004, Professor Donos received the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO)-Basic Science Research Award. Professor Donos was the President of the British Society of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry (BSP) (2020) and is a board member at the Osteology Foundation (Switzerland) as well as the Academic Representative at the Committee of the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI)(UK). Professor Donos is involved as editorial board member in international peer-reviewed journals in the field of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry where he has published more than 240 scientific publications. Professor Donos is/has been involved in a number of consensus conferences for the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO), The International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the Osteology Foundation all of which provide the most up-to-date evidence based information for different clinical situations in the fields of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. Prof Donos has significant clinical experience in providing advanced treatment modalities to patients suffering from severe periodontal disease. Those modalities include all steps (non-surgical and surgical) for the treatment of periodontal disease including periodontal and bone tissue regeneration and replacement of missing teeth with dental implants. Furthermore, Professor Donos has significant experience in non-surgical and surgical treatment of peri-implant diseases (peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis). All the above clinical problems and their treatments are topics that Professor Donos regularly covers in his lectures on a national and international level.
