Dr. Lino Calvani graduated in Medicine and Surgery at University La Sapienza in Roma, where he qualified in Dentistry and also took his Certificate as Dental Technician with Italian and European validity at Maggiori Institute of Dental Technology. In 1983 he took his Certificate in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of Face, Head and Neck at Scuola Medica Ospedaliera of Roma. In 1991 he took his Specialty Certificate in Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry in the Department fo Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, MA, U.S.A., under the guide and Direction of Professor Gino Passamonti. Dr. Calvani is a Diplomate to the hard and prestigious American Board of Prosthodontics (ABP). Also, he owns his Master of Sciences in Applied Bio-Mechanical Engineering taken in 2009, to the prestigious Department of Bio-Engineering at Wolfson Center of Strathclyde University, in Glasgow, Scotland, Directed by Prof. Ing. Sandy Nikol. At the moment, he is a PhD Candidate in Biomechanics of Implant Materials in the Department of Prosthodontics at University Aristotle in Thessaloniki, Greece, directed by Prof. Argiris Pissiotis. Since 1997, he is teaching at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, and since 2005 as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry in the Department of Prosthodontics and Restorative dentistry, Division of Graduate and Postgraduate Prosthodontics, Chair Prof. HP Weber, Direttore Prof. Hiroshi Hirayama, Dr. Kiho Kahn. Associate Prof. A. Burak Çankaya DDS

Dr. Paolo Casentini

Paolo Casentini teaches postgraduate courses in oral implantology and oral surgery at the University of Milan in Italy. He is fellow and chairman of the Italian section of the ITI, an active member of the Italian Academy of Osseointegration (IAO) and a member of SIdP. Paolo Casentini is author or coauthor of several scientific papers about implantology and regenerative surgery published on peer-reviewed international journals. He has contributed as author or coauthor to 10 textbooks about implantology, pre-implant surgery and oral surgery; some of which have been translated in several other languages. He is also coauthor of the ITI Treatment Guide volume 4, which has been translated into 9 languages. His main fields of interest are the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implantology and periodontology in advanced and esthetically demanding cases. He has extensively lectured on these topics during international congresses and courses in 35 different countries.

Prof Leandro Chambrone DDS, MSc, PhD

Subsequently, he earned a masters degree and PhD degree in periodontics from the University of São Paulo. He holds positions of Associate Professor at Egas Moniz University (Portugal), Ad honorem Associate Professor at El Bosque University (Colombia), Visiting Professor at the University of Iowa, and Adjunct Associate Professor at Penn School of Dental Medicine. Beyond his enthusiasm and dedication as an educator and health care provider, Dr Chambrone is also heavily involved in clinical research and evidence-based dentistry. He has authored over 150 papers, including some commissioned consensus reviews for the American Academy of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology. Dr Chambrone currently serves as Section Editor of Clinical Research for The International Journal of Oral Implantology and Section Editor of Periodontics for the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry.

Dr. Stephen Chen

Stephen graduated BDS (Malaya) in 1983, MDSc (Melbourne) in 1987 and completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2008.  He was awarded Fellowship by examination of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS) in 1988 (KG Sutherland Prize).  He holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor at The School of Dentistry, The University of Melbourne. Stephen’s clinical and scientific interests are in the field of periodontal tissue regeneration, bone grafting and dental implants. He has published over 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored 2 textbooks and contributed chapters to 6 textbooks. Stephen is president-elect of the ITI (International Team for Implantology), an international not-for-profit academic organization in the field of dental implantology with over 15,000 members worldwide in over 100 countries.  He has served as chairman of the ITI Education Committee and is currently a member of the ITI Board of Directors.  In Australia, he has contributed significantly to local academic and professional associations, having previously served as chairman of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS) and Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP).  He was awarded honorary life membership of the Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS) for services to the organization.
