Prof. Dr. Dr. Peer Kämmerer is an oral, maxillofacial and plastic surgeon working at the University of Mainz, Germany as Medical Director of the Department of Oral-, Maxillofacial- and Facial Plastic Surgery. He is certified specialist for oral, maxillofacial and plastic surgery (medical degree), for oral surgery (dental degree), for special pain therapy in the head and neck area (medical), specialist for dental implantology (dental) and specialist for plastic surgery (medical). So far, he has written more than 300 peer-revied scientific articles and reviews covering the topics facial reconstruction, oral cancer, dental implantology including bone augmentation as well as local anesthesia. He is author of several German textbooks covering dental implantology and dental local anesthesia.

Dr. Joseph Kan

Dr. Joseph Kan completed his specialty training in Prosthodontics as well as the Master degree from the Implant Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD) in 1997. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and the research coordinator for the Implant Dentistry Program in LLUSD. He also maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and Implant Surgery. In 1997, Dr. Kan was the recipient of the Best Research Award in the 12th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Osseointegration. He also received the Judson C. Hinckey Scientific Award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2003 and the Robert James Achievement Award in 2005. Dr. Kan is on the Periodontology/Implantology Editorial Board of the Practical Periodontics & Aesthetic Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and an associate member of the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists. Dr. Kan is one of few clinicians worldwide that had been trained in both the surgical and restorative discipline of implant dentistry. Besides lecturing both nationally and internationally, he has published over 40 articles in reference journals and chapters in textbooks.

Dr. Kostas Karagiannopoulos

His areas of special interest include replacement of missing teeth, bite problems, and aesthetic dentistry.  He is a member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and the American Prosthodontic Society and he annually attends their meetings in Chicago.  Recently he became a faculty member of Spear Education, the leading educational institute in the U.S. Since 2008 Kostas has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate dental students at King’s College (Guy’s Hospital). Dr. Ellen Katz DDS

Dr. Ellen attended New York University College of Dentistry, where she graduated as one of the youngest dentists in her graduating class and received a Most Promising Dentist Award. Following graduation, she completed a one-year residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. She values the importance of continuing education and the latest advancements in dentistry and regularly attends lectures and conferences, as well as conducts lectures for other dentists. Dental studies in Freiburg from 1980 to 1985, completed PhD in 1987, worked in the prosthodontics department of the dental clinic in Freiburg from 1985 to 1991 and 1994 to 1997. Conducted research funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, USA, from 1991 to 1993. Achieved habilitation in 1995. Appointed as director of the Department of Dental Prosthetics, Propaedeutics, and Materials Science at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel in 1997. Became chairman of the Schleswig-Holstein Society for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (SHGZMK) in 2004. Served as vice president of the German Society of Prosthetic Dentistry and Biomaterials (DGPro) from 2008 to 2012, and as president of the DGPro from 2012 to 2016. In December 2011, became the first German scientist to receive the Schweitzer Research Award from the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics (GNYAP). Research interests include adhesive prosthodontics, all-ceramic restorations, implantology, and materials science.

Jun.-Prof. Dr. Florian Kernen

Jun.-Prof. Kernen hat sein Zahnmedizinstudium an der Universität Basel absolviert und dort 2012 abgeschlossen. und war zunächst als Zahnarzt in einer Praxis tätig. Bereits einige Monate später Nach einer kurzen Tätigkeit niedergelassener Zahnarztkehrte ging er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter zurück an das Universitäre Zentrum für Zahnmedizin Basel und hat 2014 an der Universität Basel seine Promotion zum Dr. med. dent. abgeschlossen. Während der Promotionsphase ging er als International Fellow an das Department of Reconstructive Sciences der University of Connecticut in Farmington, USA. Nach Ende des Fellowships blieb er an der University of Connecticut und hat dort den Masterstudiengang "Dental Science" absolviert und zudem das “Certificate of Competence in Implant Surgery” am Department of Reconstructive Sciences erworben. Im November 2017 kam Jun-Prof. Kernen als Klinischer Wissenschaftler für Translationale Implantologie an die Klinik für Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie des Universitätsklinikums Freiburg.

PD Dr. Andreas Keßler MSc

PD Dr. Andreas Keßler erlangte seine Approbation 2013 an der Ludwig-Maximilians Universität und war anschließend für seine Assistenzzeit in freier Praxis tätig. Nach Promotion im Themenbereich zahnärztliche Werkstoffkunde war er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter und anschließend akademischer Rat an der Poliklinik für Zahnerhaltung und Parodontologie der LMU angestellt und spezialisiert auf die digitale Zahnheilkunde. Durch erfolgreichen Abschluss seiner Habilitation im Jahre 2021 erlangte er die Lehrberechtigung der LMU München und den Titel Privatdozent. Es folgte die Ernennung zum Oberarzt und akademischen Oberrat. Im Jahre 2022 schloss er erfolgreich den M.Sc. "Zahnmedizinische Prothetik" an der Universität Greifswald ab. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt im Bereich 3D Druck und dessen werkstoffkundliche Eigenschaften. Hierzu veröffentlichte er deutsche und englischsprachige Publikationen in wissenschaftlichen Fachjournalen. Er ist zudem national und international als Referent tätig.
