Reminiscent Radiopacity Within a Radiolucency: An Interesting Case Report

Pericoronal radiolucencies with calcifications can be due to dentigerous cysts, adenomatoid odontogenic tumour, calcifying epithelial odontogentic cyst and tumour, cemento ossifying fibroma, odontomas, etc. Here is a case of a 13-year-old male, who presented with swelling of the lower jaw. Radiograph revealed a pericoronal radiolucent lesion with respect to an impacted mandibular canine. Diagnosis of pericoronal radiolucencies correctly is sometimes challenging for an oral radiologist. This poster attempts to discuss the differential diagnosis of such pericoronal radiolucent lesions that must be considered while making the diagnosis and treatment planning.
