Interpretation of cone beam computed tomography volumetric data: How to report findings?

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was introduced to the dental profession at the beginning of the new millennium and has become an integral part of dental practice, especially within the surgical specialties. With advances in technology and the introduction of new-generation digital detectors, the concomitant increase in pixel resolution provided the ability to discern fine details of the anatomy. This article focuses on the methodology of CBCT interpretation and reporting. Details of reviewing the volume thoroughly are described with relevant citations.
