Dr. Axel Kirsch

Germany

Dr. Axel Kirsch has been active in research and clinical practice in oral implantology and peri-implant prosthodontics for more than 35 years. The IMZ implant system was in part based on his contributions. Since 1995 Kirsch and his team have developed, tested, and established the CAMLOG® implant system. His current clinical activities focus on hard- and soft-tissue management and safe implant/prosthodontic treatment concepts, while his scientific attention is directed to basic research in oral implantology. Ever since he began practicing in his own office in 1974, Kirsch has held presentations, taught practical courses, and published numerous clinical and scientific articles. Kirsch visited numerous universities as a guest professor.

Since 2016: Referent at the praxisHochschule Cologne.

ZTM Gerhard Neuendorff

Germany

Gerhard Neuendorff, MDT passed the examination for Certified Dental Technician in 1978 and obtained degree of Master Dental Technician in 1985. Gerhard Neuendorff has headed the Dr. Kirsch Dentaltechnik laboratory in Filderstadt since 1979. His main areas of interest include laboratory research and development around the IMZ implant system and the CAMLOG® implant system. His contributions have been published internationally, and he has earned an international reputation as a lecturer.

PD Dr. Arndt Happe

Dr. Arndt Happe graduated from dental school in 1994, having studied at Westfälische Wilhelms University, Münster. Following post-graduate studies with Professor Fouad Khoury and successful specialization in oral surgery, he obtained his doctoral degree in 1996. At that time he had already been active as a speaker and co-author of national and international publications in the field of oral implantology. Since 1999, Dr. Happe has worked as an oral surgeon in private practice in Münster, with a professional focus on both oral implantology (since 2000) and periodontology (since 2004). He taught in various postgraduate programs offered by the German Association of Oral Implantology (DGI), the European Association of Dental Implantologists (BDIZ EDI), the German Association of Esthetic Dentistry (DGÄZ) and the German Society for Periodontology (DGP), as well as in the “Periodontology and Implant Therapy” master program of the DGP in cooperation with Dresden International University. In addition, Dr. Happe is an external research assistant at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Plastic Surgery, Oral Surgery and Implantology at the University of Cologne (Director: Professor Joachim E. Zöller). He is an affiliate of the prestigious European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED).

Andreas Nolte

Andreas Nolte graduated as a Certified Dental Technician in Lübbecke in 1989 and worked at several dental laboratories through 1993. The following eight years he worked in an in-office laboratory. Following various stints in different areas of Germany and abroad in 2001 and 2002, he founded his own company Enamelum et Dentinum in Münster, where he has been running his own laboratory and training center since 2004. Nolte has authored several articles in dental and dental technology journals and has been a presenter on the international stage since 2000. He is a member of the editorial boards of Quintessenz Zahntechnik and Dental Dialogue and has been a member of “Group 65” for several years.

June 2, 1968: Born in Kempten im Allgäu; 1990–1995: Studied dentistry at the Philipps University of Marburg; 1993: Accepted into the German National Academic Foundation; 1996: Doctoral studies at the University of Marburg; 1997: Assistant dentist in a dental practice near Cologne; 1998: Completed his doctorate on the subject of “Temperature development in dentine during dental preparation”; Since January 1998: Research assistant at the Clinic for Dental Prosthetics, Propaedeutics and Materials Science at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Kiel; April 2000: Appointment as senior physician; May 2001: Appointment as “Specialist for Prosthetics” by the German Society for Dental Prosthetics and Materials Science; 2006: Completion of the implantology curriculum (DGI); May 2006: Completion of habilitation (topic: “Evidence-based assessment of dental esthetics to improve quality of life”); Oct 2008: Appointment at the RWTH Aachen University to the W3 Professorship Clinic for Dental Prosthetics and Biomaterials, Center for Implantology; Since Oct 2008: Director of the Clinic for Dental Prosthetics and Biomaterials, Center for Implantology at the University Hospital Aachen; Since Nov 2008: Clinical focus for many years on dental implantology and implant prosthetics. In addition to implantology and implant prosthetics, Prof. Wolfarts’s research focuses on dental esthetics, the clinical testing of new all-ceramic materials, and the associated improvement in quality of life. He is a certified implantologist of the German Society of Oral Implantology (DGI) and an ITI Fellow (International Team for Implantology); Sep 2014: His book “Implant Prosthodontics – A patient-oriented concept” was published by Quintessence Publishing.

ZTM Volker Weber

Volker Weber, MDT graduated as Certified Dental Technician in 1987. From 1988 to 2009, he worked closely with the Department of Prosthodontics of RWTH Aachen University (Director: Professor Hubertus Spiekermann), especially in the field of oral implantology with special emphasis on the use of different implant systems. This cooperation intensified when he joined the Impladent dental laboratory at Aachen in 1992. In 1994 he passed the examination for Master Dental Technician in Cologne. Since 2005 he has been a consultant on implant-supported restorations for various institutions and has published articles on implant-supported superstructures. Since 2009 he has been continuing his cooperation with the Department of Prosthodontics, Oral Implantology and Biomaterials of RWTH Aachen University (Director: Professor Stefan Wolfart).

From 1994 to 1999, Prof. Dr. Florian Beuer studied at the Dental School of the Ludwig Maximilian University Munich, Germany, where he gained his license to practice (DDS) in 2000. From 2000 to 2001, he worked as an employed dentist in a private practice. In 2002, he became assistant professor in the Department of Prosthodontics of the Ludwig Maximilian University and made his Dissertation (Dr. med. dent.) in the same year. He became Specialist in Implantology (German Society for Implantology) in 2005. From 2007 to 2008, he worked as a Visiting Professor at the Pacific Dental Institute in Portland, Oregon (Director: John A. Sorensen DMD, PhD). His habilitation (Priv. Doz., PhD) was in 2009 at the LMU. From 2009 to 2015, he was the Vice President of the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ästhetische Zahnheilkunde (DGAEZ)". In 2010, he became an Expert in Prosthodontics after a further education at DGPro. Since 2011, Prof. Buer is a board member of the Team AG Ceramics. In the same year, he became the editor of the "Teamwork Journal of Continuing Dental Education". Since 2014, he was full Professor at Ludwig Maximilians University until 2015, when he became the Chairman of the Department of Prosthodontics at the Charité University of Medicine Berlin. He is also a Board Member of the German Society for Implantology (DGI).He gained his Master of Medical Education MME (University of Heidelberg) in 2015.

Prof. Dr. Michael Stimmelmayr

Michael Stimmelmayr became a research assistant at Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich upon graduation in dentistry from the University of Regensburg. He obtained his doctoral degree in 1992 and his specialization as oral surgeon in 1997, serving as assistant medical director at the Chair for Prosthodontics. In 2000 he opened his own practice in Cham, with a professional focus on oral implantology and specialization in periodontology.

Josef Schweiger received vocational training as a dental technician after graduating from high school. Having worked in several dental laboratories, he has been a laboratory manager at the Department of Prosthodontics of Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich since 1999. He has been responsible for the laboratory branches of several studies on all-ceramic systems and has published numerous articles on CAD/CAM and high-performance ceramics for dental use. He is a member of the board of the German Association for Computer-Assisted Dentistry (DGCZ).
