Edward P. Allen, DDS, PhD has served as president of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, and the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. He is the recipient of the Master Clinician Award from the American Academy of Periodontology, the President’s Award for Excellence in Dental Education from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and the Saul Schluger Award for Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning. In 2019, he was honored with the AAP Gold Medal Award, the highest award bestowed by the Academy. Currently, he serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, the Journal of Periodontology, and the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. Dr Allen is founder of the Center for Advanced Dental Education in Dallas, an educational facility where he teaches surgical technique courses. He has over 100 publications and has presented numerous lectures and surgical demonstrations worldwide.

Dr Carlos Aparicio received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the University of Navarra in 1978, completed his postgraduate studies in dentistry at the Univeristy of Barcelona, and became a dental laboratory technician in 1983 at the Ramon y Cajal School in Barcelona. He received his Diploma in Implant Dentistry in 1984 from the University of Gothenburg (with Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark as tutor) and was awarded a Master of Materials Science from the University of Barcelona in 1990 before receiving his Diploma in Periodontics from the University of Gothenburg in 1995. He was awarded a master’s in biomedical research from the University of Barcelona in 2010, and became a Ph.D. in medicine (summa cum laude with international mention) in 2013. Dr Aparicio has written numerous articles for international journals. In 2012, he edited the book Zygomatic Implants: The Anatomy–Guided Approach (ZAGA). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in England and became an Academic at The Royal European Academy of Doctors in 2016. He is former president of the Osseointegration Foundation of the American Academy of Osseontigration. He received the Fonseca Award from the Spanish Society of Periodontics three times and was awarded the Simo Virgili Prize by the Catalonian Society of Ondonto-Stomatology twice. Today, Dr Aparicio is an International Teaching Scholar at Indiana University School of Dentistry and is honorary president of the Spanish Society of Minimally Invasive Dentistry, which he founded. His latest endeavor is founding the Zygoma ZAGA Centers Network in 2018 with the goal of spreading the ZAGA philosophy globally. Currently, he is sharing his knowledge as a senior consultant in zygomatic implants at Hepler Bone Clinic in Barcelona, Spain.
Dr Araújo is a Periodontist working both in private practice Rio de Janeiro and at the State University of Maringa, Parana, Brazil. He completed his PhD at The University of Gothenburg, Sweden in 1998. He is the Chairman of the Perio/Implant Research Unit, State University of Maringá. He has together with his co-workers published groundbreaking research in the fields of ridge alterations following tooth extraction, ridge preservation, bone formation in extraction sockets and immediate implant placement. He is an ITI Fellow, a former ITI Chairman in Brazil and Osteology Foundation Board member. He is member of the editorial board of several journals.
Colin Armstrong DO is a British trained Osteopath. He spent the first five years of his career in Zimbabwe and is now based in France. He has over 30 years of clinical experience and has undertaken extensive postgraduate training in France and Britain. The study of osteopathy from different cultural perspectives has given him a unique insight into the way people experience pain and illness, and the impact this has on the therapeutic encounter. His areas of special interest include paediatric osteopathy and osteopathic care during pregnancy. He feels immensely privileged to be able to treat people of all ages, from the newborn to the elderly, and from all walks of life. He is a founder member of the French Academy of Osteopaths.

Wael Att, DDS, Dr med dent, PhD, is professor and chair of the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and a professor of prosthodontics at the University of Freiburg School of Dentistry in Germany. He serves as president of the International Academy for Digital Dental Medicine, past president of the Prosthodontics Group of the International Association for Dental Research as well as president of the Arabian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr Att is a board-certified prosthodontist from the German Society of Prosthodontics and Biomaterials and an active member of multiple professional organizations, including the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
Dr Matthias Aust, Associate Professor and Chief Consulting Physician at the Clinic for Plastic Reconstructive Surgery at the Malteserkrankenhaus Hospital in Bonn, Germany, where he has successfully practiced surgical Needling for many years, e.g. in the treatment of burn scars. Dr. Gustavo Avila-Ortiz obtained a DDS degree and completed a PhD training program at the University of Granada (Spain), before moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) where he graduated with an MS degree and a Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Michigan. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Avila-Ortiz has over 10 years of experience as an educator and has worked to advance the profession in numerous institutional committees and scientific organizations. He is a former faculty member at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he was the Phillip A. Lainson Professor and Chair of the Department of Periodontics until 2022. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry. He has authored more than 100 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and numerous book chapters. He is the co-author of the book TISSUES: Critical Issue in Periodontics and Implant-Related Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Quintessence Publishing 2022), which has been critically acclaimed within the profession. Dr. Avila-Ortiz is currently a Visiting Professor in the Division of Periodontics at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and a member of Atelier Dental Madrid (Spain), a center for dental excellence where he maintains a private practice limited to Periodontics and Implant Dentistry and is regularly engaged in scholarly and continuing-education activities.

Dr. Baba received his DMD degree from the University of Montreal in 1996. He completed a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics and a Masters degree in Restorative Sciences in Prosthodontics from Boston University School of Dentistry in 1999. Dr. Baba serves as a Professor in the Advanced Education program in Prosthodontics at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in the Comprehensive Dentistry Department, and maintains a part-time private practice in Glendale, CA. He is currently the President of the American College of Prosthodontists and an active member of various professional organizations and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and the Academy of Prosthodontics. He is also the Associate Editor for the Aesthetics/Prosthetics/Restorative section at the Journal of Dental Traumatology and a reviewer for the Journal of Prosthodontics and the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. Dr. Baba has received several honors and awards including: The David J. Baraban Award from Boston University, the Claude R. Baker Faculty award for Excellence in Teaching Predoctoral Fixed prosthodontics in 2009 from the AAFP, and the California dental Association Arthur A. Dugoni Faculty award in 2010. He is the author of numerous publications and has recently published a book entitled “Restoration of Endodontically treated teeth: evidence based diagnosis and treatment Planning” and has lectured nationally and internationally.
