It is with immense pride that I announce the 2nd International Endodontic Forum ENDO SAPIENS 2023 which will be held on 14 and 15 October 2023 in Barcelona. It is an honor for me to introduce such an outstanding scientific speakers team: Yoshi Terauchi, Jose Siqueira, Arnaldo Castellucci, Gilberto Debelian, Daniel Cerny, Jean-Yves Cochet and Talal Al-Nahlawi. I look very much forward to welcoming you in Barcelona this October!

Endo Sapiens is a great scientific meeting point for colleages from around the world to discuss the latest trends in modern endodontics. This time in Barcelona we are going to focus on very controversial topics which is extremely important for all of us. We'll give you a lot of new scientific-based clinical recommendations in endo, and we'll have a lot of fun of course. Barcelona is such a fantastic location! I look very much forward to seeing all of you there.

Prof. Dr. Talal Al-Nahlawi

Syria, Damascus

Dr. Talal Al-Nahlawi was born in Damascus in 1977. He graduated from Faculty of Dentistry-Damascus University in 1999; he completed his post graduate diploma in endodontics in 2001, Master of Science in 2004, and PhD degree in 2009 from Damascus University. Since then he became an assistant professor at Operative dentistry and Endodontics department at Syrian Private Universities. He was conferred into the title of associate professor in 2016. He is also a part time lecturer at Damascus University, Al-Sham Private University, and National Dental Center in Syria. Dr Talal has many publications in peer-reviewed journals, Editor in many journals, authored and translated many books about restorative dentistry in Arabic, and lectured and conducted hands-on courses worldwide.

Dr. Arnaldo Castellucci

Italy, Florenz

Dr. Castellucci graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Florence (1973) and he specialized in Dentistry and Prosthodontics at the same University (1977). Between 1978 -1980 he attended Continuing Education in Endodontics courses at the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry with Prof. Herbert Schilder. Since 1979 his professional career has focused on Endodontics. He lives in Florence where he has his private practice and his Micro-Endodontics Training Center. Between 1983-2000 he was a Visiting Professor of Endodontics at the Graduate Dental Course of the Università di Siena and between 2000-2011 he was a Visiting Professor of Endodontics at the Graduate Dental Course of the Università di Firenze. Since 2013 he has been a Professor of Micro-Surgical Endodontics at the School of Specialization in Oral Surgery at the Università Federico II of Naples. He is Past President of the Italian Endodontic Society (SIE), Past President of the International Federation of Endodontic Associations (IFEA), Active Member of the European Society of Endodontology (ESE), and Active Member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE). He is a very well-known international lecturer with lectures all around the world. He has been editor of “The Italian Journal of Endodontics” and of “The Endodontic Informer”. Dr. Castellucci is now the Editor in Chief of Endo Tribune, Founder and President of the “Warm Gutta-Percha Study Club”. He published articles on Endodontics in the most prestigious Endodontic Journals. He authored the three-volume textbook on “Endodontics”, available in English.

Dr. Daniel Černý

Czech Republic, Hradec Králové

Dr. Daniel Černý received his dental degree from the Charles University’s Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, in 1998. Between 1998 and 2007, he worked as an assistant professor at the same faculty. He is currently completing his doctoral degree with a focus on adhesive post-endodontic treatment at Palacký University Olomouc in the Czech Republic. Since 2001, he has maintained a private practice limited to adhesive dentistry and endodontics in Hradec Králové. Černý has been the President of the Czech Endodontic Society since 2015. He was the co-founder and first President of the Česká akademie dentální estetiky [Czech academy of dental esthetics] from 2007 to 2009. From 2009 to 2013, he served on the editorial board of LKS—Časopis České stomatologické komory [journal of the Czech Dental Chamber]. He is also the co-founder of the Dental Summit congress in Prague, Czech Republic. He has been the co-owner and director of the HDVI continuing education institute since 2010. Černý has contributed four chapters to dental books and lectures both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Jean-Yves G. Cochet DDS

France, Paris

Dr. Cochet is a visiting professor of the postgraduate program of endodontics at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He served as a clinical assistant professor of the postgraduate program of endodontics at the University of Paris VII from 1986 to 1990. He earned his D.D.S. degree and received his endodontic training from the University of Paris VII in 1984 and 1990, respectively. Dr. Cochet is a past president of the French Endodontic Society (1998-2000) and has made numerous international presentations on endodontics, traumatology, and endodontic surgery.

Dr. Gilberto Debelian DMD, PhD

Norway, Oslo

Dr. Gilberto Debelian received his DMD degree from the University of Sao Paulo, Brasil in 1987. He completed his specialization in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, the USA in 1991, and received the Louis I. Grossman Postdoctoral Student Award in Endodontics. He taught as a clinical instructor and associate professor at the post-doctoral endodontic program at the Department of Endodontics, University of Oslo, Norway from 1991 to 2001, and from 2006 to 2010. Dr. Debelian concluded his Ph.D. studies at the University of Oslo, Norway in 1997 on bacteremia and fungemia on patients undergoing endodontic therapy, which gave him two scientific awards from the European Society of Endodontology (ESE) and from the Norwegian Dental Association both in 1997. He is an adjunct visiting professor at the post-graduate program in endodontics, the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, USA. Dr. Debelian maintains a private practice limited to Endodontics in Bekkestua, Norway.

Dr. Domenico Ricucci

Italy, Cetraro

Dr. Domenico Ricucci received his degree in General Medicine from "La Sapienza" University of Rome in 1982, and his DDS from the same University in 1985. Since then on he has maintained private dental practices limited to endodontics. He served in the Research Committee of the European Society of Endodontology from 1999 to 2005. Since 1998 he has run his own histology laboratory and his primary research interest relates to pulpal and periapical tissue reactions to caries and treatment procedures, biofilms in endodontic infections, etiology of RTC treatment failure, pulp regeneration / revascularization. Dr Ricucci has published 112 papers and has lectured both nationally and internationally. He has authored the Textbook and Atlas "Patologia e Clinica Endodontica", the textbook and atlas "Endodontology. An integrated biological and clinical view", also translated into Chinese, Russian, Japanese. He has also authored or co-authored 22 book chapters.

José F. Siqueira, Jr DDS, MSc, PhD

Brazil, Rio de Janeiro

Dr Siqueira is Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Dentistry, Grande Rio University, Rio de Janeiro, and Professor and Chairman of the Dental Research Group, Iguaçu University, Nova Iguaçu, RJ, Brazil. He has authored 11 books on endodontics, microbiology, and immunology and also several chapters for leading international endodontic textbooks. Dr Siqueira is one of the most prolific authors in dentistry, having published more than 400 scientific papers. He is the recipient of the 2014 Louis I. Grossman award from the American Association of Endodontists and the 2012 Louis I. Grossman award from the French Society of Endodontics. He currently serves as a member of the editorial board of several international journals for which he is also a reviewer. Dr Siqueira actively lectures on the subject of endodontics worldwide.
