International OrthodonticsPages 229-250, Language: EnglishKoleilat, BilalIntroduction: Effective utilisation of any bracket system, alongside meticulous diagnosis and treatment planning, holds promise for achieving both aesthetic and functional success when correcting malocclusion. Methods: Three complex clinical cases are illustrated to showcase simplified treatment protocols. Biologically measured archwire types and sequences, strategic placement of bite ramps, early light elastics and precise anterior bracket positioning in a single-prescription precision slot straight-wire system are discussed.
Results: The results of the cases described show that optimal control over tooth movement can be achieved, frequent adjustments can be minimised and functional and aesthetic objectives can be attained with these simplified protocols.
Conclusions: It is paramount to underscore that while the adoption of the proposed simplified protocols offers significant benefits, their judicious application within a comprehensive treatment plan is essential. These protocols should not be overused or relied upon as standalone solutions. Careful patient selection, individual variations and appropriate anchorage considerations should be taken into account.
