Prof. Shahram Ghanaati ist Facharzt für Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie mit einem Dreifachdoktortitel in Medizin, Zahnmedizin und Naturwissenschaften (MD, DMD, PhD) der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität in Mainz und Frankfurt. Er leitet die Sektion für Kopf- und Hals-Onkologie am Universitätskrebszentrum der Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt und ist außerordentlicher Professor in der dortigen Klinik für Mund-, Kiefer- und Plastische Gesichtschirurgie. Im Jahr 2009 gründete er das FORM-Lab (Frankfurt Orofacial Regenerative Medicine), ein Forschungslabor, das grundlagenwissenschaftliche und klinische Studien zum besseren Verständnis des Regenerationsprozesses mit Biomaterialien durchführt. In seiner Forschung hat Prof. Ghanaati an der Entwicklung von über zehn Biomaterialien mitgewirkt, die vom Labor in die Klinik gebracht wurden. Er arbeitete mit Dr. Joseph Choukroun, dem Erfinder des platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), zusammen, um moderne Präparationsprotokolle zu entwickeln, und etablierte 2016 mit seinem Team das sogenannte LSCC-Konzept (low-speed centrifugation concept) für PRF-Blutkonzentrate. Er hielt mehr als 150 Vorträge auf nationalen und internationalen Kongressen und leitete mehr als 200 Kurse und Workshops über GTR und GBR in der Implantologie sowie über regenerative Konzepte und Blutkonservate. Prof. Ghanaati veröffentlichte mehr als 170 begutachtete Beiträge auf dem Gebiet der regenerativen und rekonstruktiven Medizin und ist Fellow des European Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
