Paul, Stefan Johannes

After graduating from the University of Freiburg, Germany in 1985, Dr Paul underwent postgraduate training in Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology at the University of Göttingen, Germany before joining the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics at the University of Zurich from 1991 until 2002. From 1997 until 1999, Dr Paul served as Director of the Center for Esthetic Dentistry at UCLA School of Dentistry. In 2000, he received his dental licence for the State of California, and in the same year, earned a degree as “Privatdozent“ from the University of Zurich, where he was an appointed lecturer until 2009. From 2009 until 2019, Dr Paul continued teaching at the University of Freiburg. Since 2019, Dr Paul has been appointed at the University of Geneva as an external senior lecturer in the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials.

Since August 2002, Dr Paul has run a private practice in Zurich dedicated to implantology and aesthetic fixed and removable prosthodontics. His clinical work includes implantology, all ceramic restorations and complex aesthetic dentistry.

He has written/co-written many publications alongside his clinical and research activities, andhas been a member of the editorial board of The International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry since 2005 and a reviewer fort he International Journal of Prosthodontics since 2019. His continued research activities at the University of Geneva focus on soft tissue attachment around transmucosal implants in the oral cavity. Dr Paul is an Active Member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) and of the European Academy of Osseointegration (EAO), and is a nationally and internationally active lecturer on prosthodontics and implantology.
