Prof. Dr. Ronaldo Hirata DDS, MS, PhD

Prof Ronaldo Hirata, DDS, MS, PhD, finished his DDS at the Federal University of Parana in Curitiba, Brazil, before completing a 2-year operative dentistry specialty at the same university. To improve his scientific knowledge, he then finished a master’s degree in dental materials at the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil, with a research thesis working with glass and polyethylene fibers to improve mechanical properties of composites. Following, his PhD in restorative dentistry at the State University of Rio de Janeiro focused on the transmittance, reflectance, and fluorescence of composite resins, Prof Hirata undertook a postdoctoral certificate at New York University (NYU) working with plasma application on dentin surfaces and bonding strength analysis. Now, he is Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomaterials at NYU with a secondary appointment in the Department of Cariology. Prof Hirata has lectured in more than 40 countries and published more than 100 papers in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. His previous books (TIPS, Artes Medicas, 2014; Shortcuts, Quintessence, 2017) were also published in three languages. Prof Hirata maintains a private practice limited to esthetic dentistry in Curitiba.

Prof. Dr. Martin Hirsch

Prof. Dr. Hirsch hat einen Doktor in Neurowissenschaften und ein Diplom in Physiologie. Nach der Veröffentlichung seiner Arbeiten zu Neuronenmodellen im Fachjournal Nature wurde aus dem Forscher ein Unternehmer – ein Wechsel von der Theorie zur Innovation. Sein erstes Projekt war ein Neuronenmodellprogramm. Martin entwickelte die erste Version von Ada für Ärzte und prägt noch heute die Art, wie Ada lernt. Sein Großvater ist der Nobelpreisträger Werner Heisenberg.

Zum 1. Januar 2020 wurde Prof. Dr. Martin Christian Hirsch einer der international führenden Experten im Bereich der Künstlichen Intelligenz auf die neu eingerichtete Professur „Künstliche Intelligenz in der Medizin“ am Fachbereich Medizin der Philipps-Universität Marburg sowie des Universitätsklinikums Marburg berufen.

Prof. Hoffmann qualified as an OMFS surgeon in 1997 at the University Hospital Tübingen and finished his PhD-Thesis in 1999. Working as consultant since 2000 he became Vice Chairman of the Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Hospital Tübingen (Germany) in 2003. Since 2010 Prof. Hoffmann chairs the Dept. of OMFS at the University Hospital in Heidelberg , which is one of the major units in Germany, covering a broad scope of surgical techniques. His main focus is in the field of Traumatology and Reconstructive Surgery. He has special interests in image data based planning, treatment of Vascular Anomalies and bone regeneration. Prof. Hoffmann represents the German Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as Vicepresident.

Fabian Huettig serves as Senior Clinical Consultant (Leitender Oberarzt) and Acting Deputy Head of the Department (komm. Stellv. Ärztlicher Direktor) for Prosthodontics at University Hospital Tuebingen. Besides his clincal (outpatient clinic), teaching (preclinical courses) and managerial responsibilities within the department, he heads the Study Center "Medical Devices" as well as the Section "Research" with subgroups focusing on Additive Manufacturing in Dentistry, Health Services/ interprofessional patient care, Teaching and Didactics in Dentistry, Clinical Performance of Medical Devices/ Clinical Registers. He is Specialist for Prosthetic Dentistry (DGPro) and Member of the Ethical Review Board of the Medical Faculty and University Hospital. He studied Dentistry 1999-2005 at Eberhard Karls University Tubingen and started his career at the department he is still working in. Meanwhile he was granted a DMD (2008) as well as a Ph.D. (2018) in the field of Dentistry and Oral Medicine.
