These were harvested during insertion of implants and were then explanted as cell culture. Following stains were used: Alcaline phosphatase, von-Kossa, osteocalzine and vimentine. These showed the cells to be of osteoblast and mesenchymal origin. It was also possible to confirm an osteoblast phenotype. During the past five years 256 patients were treated inserting 566 implants. In 45.3% a Bone collector was used for marginal defects, 6,3% for palatinal defects, 7.4% for periimplant defects, 1.1% for fenestration defects, 2.1% for bone splitting and 5.3% for sinus floor elevation. Histological results will be presented.
